Hi Builder
Happy Memorial Day to our friends in the USA! We have so many beautiful places where we walk and gather, let's take a moment to be thankful for these spaces and the freedoms we possess. It has been a busy month for the APT and we are getting ready for National Trails Day. Where will you be June 3rd and 4th?

Rue had a great time taping his latest podcast with Backpacker Radio, if you have not had a chance to listen, click here to check it out.

Where's Rue?

Next stop for Rue was the west coast for a meeting with media for an upcoming piece about the APT. He spent some time out near the PCT and then took some time to re hike some sections of the shared footbed of the PCT and APT.

From the Team

Onward....

Suzanne has been busy hitting the 520 mile mark for the CT Blue Blaze Challenge and taking care of business while Rue and Anna are on trail. We are setting up a new online store, starting to map out the APT in CT, and planning the Trails Day hike. Memorial Day also happens to also be her birthday this year so consider a membership or a donation as a way to say Happy Birthday!
National Trails Day - June 3
"Taking place on the first Saturday in June, National Trails Day® is a day of public events aimed at advocacy and trail service. Tens of thousands of hikers, bikers, paddlers, horseback riders, trail clubs, federal and local agencies, land trusts, and businesses come together in partnership to advocate for, maintain, and clean up public lands and trails." Find out more at the American Hiking Society.

We are thrilled to be hosting our first official Trails Day hike in Connecticut on the New England Trail June 3. Find out more and RSVP in our calendar. You can also find our listing on the American Hiking Society list of events as well as on Connecticut Forest and Park Trails day events page.

Graybeard: The Man, the Myth, The Mississippi.
This feature length film documents F. Dale “Grey Beard” Sanders’ 2,340-mile-long journey in a canoe from the
headwaters of the Mississippi River at Lake Itasca, MN to the Gulf of Mexico. Just for fun, Dale completed the
journey in 87 days to match his age at 87 years old. On September 8, 2022 Dale reached salt water in the Gulf of
Mexico and secured another record in the Guinness book of world records.
